The Porsche factory designed your Porsche to be all things, to all people in all conditions.

However your Porsche is your Porsche, used the way you use it, in a much narrower range of conditions.

Porsche designed your Porsche to be driven by anyone from a grandmother using it for shopping, through to a race driver on the Nurburgring. They designed it to be driven using the poorest quality of fuel available in the deepest darkest parts of Africa, as well as the best control race fuel the world has to offer. To be driven at sea level, as well as at a higher altitude than the highest mountain road in existance, and also to be driven in the coldest and hottest conditions the world has to offer.

Porsche did a great job of designing your car, but they had to make the same car to survive in any number of conditions. In addition Porsche did not want your Porsche to outperform a more expensive model available at the same time.

Porsche were also mindful that the car needed to survive service intervals not being adhered to, parts ageing, wearing and extended periods of abuse or neglect without complete disaster.

By removing limitations designed into your Porsche due to marketing reasons, as well as tayloring it to your intended use, while also narrowing the specifications and expectations, it can be modified in any number of ways.

I good example is chip tuning. Porsche designed your Porsche with the expectation that it may be driven on fuel which was out of date, which had been stored in a rusty container and containing a very low octane specification. By altering the fueling and ignition data within the Porsche engine management system, JMG can improve your performance with the only drawback being that the car will need to be used on standard European fuels. The downside is that the fuel from deepest, darkest Africa will now be off limits. Not such a hardship!

The handling and brakes can be improved, again, your grandmother may not be quite as comfortable driving the car anymore, but you will have much more fun.

Ultimately, JMG can rebuild your engine to race specifications, the car may not quite have the same road manners in traffic that it may once have had, but it will be much faster than the next most expensive model on the open road or the track.

Your Porsche improved through tailoring to your requirements.

  • Fast road, trackday or full race specifications.
  • Engine and engine management performance improvements.
  • Performance exhaust systems, turbo chargers, wastegates, intake, induction and performance air filters.
  • Blueprinting and bulletproofing.
  • From mild to extreme race suspension options.
  • Standard, Porsche motorsport and aftermarket parts supplied and fitted.
  • Shell and car preparation through to race and track support.
  • Body styling, wheels, interior and in car audio improvements

All with the same philosophy, every modification, part or practice is performed as if Porsche had designed and installed the component at the motorsport division of Porsche themselves. We do not believe in taking short cuts, bodging a component or selling anything which is poorly manufactured or not better in every way than the original Porsche item.

The JMG Method to modify your Porsche

At JMG Porsche we believe that Porsche did a damn fine job of designing your Porsche, the Porsche motorsport department excel at improving the cars further and we should model our improvements to your Porsche based on what we have observed over the last 40 years of how Porsche do things.

When production begins on any Porsche model, 90% of development work has been done, with a further 10% of improvements over the life span of that model up until production ends. At JMG Porsche we believe in continuing that development. That development involves a long process of observing how the cars age, how the newer models improve and listening to feedback from Porsche owners around the world. This process gives us a good advantage over even what the Porsche factory have at their disposal, as for us, we have an unlimited amount of time to develop improvements to a model, with its evolution continuing into infinity.

Luckily JMG Porsche benefit from not only three generations of Porsche technician within the family, but also a massive collection of impressive contacts built over the last 40 years, which include prominent individuals and companies not only within the Porsche group, but also all forms of motorsport, including Formula-1, Nascar, Touring Car and world rally teams. This allows us to develop items which no other Porsche specialist can not even dream of.

When JMG Porsche modify a Porsche, one question we always ask is "How would Porsche Motorsport approach the problem?" and then we ask several more questions, "how would their product work?", "how would it be constructed?", "What materials would be used?" and even "What would it look like?", we also ask "what other prominent companies would solve this problem and how would they do it?" in particular we often study the work of our competitors, such as RUF and non competitors such as AMG, Brabus, Koenigsegg, McLaren, Lotus and Lamborghini.

Each and every solution is tested once produced, even if it is a one off product. However if the modified component is something that we believe their may be a wider market for, we often involve our sister company 9XX and continue to develop the product into something they can sell to other specialists and Porsche owners around the world.

So many companies modify a car with single minded focus in producing something that will satisfy the immediate needs of a customer, without complete testing, application of engineering and scientific approaches, consideration of the wider implications or how reliability may be implicated. Like children playing, they sometimes get good results, but often their results and methods are not fully understood or the result of education, development or experience, but guess work and misunderstanding. JMG Porsche are very different.

The likelihood is that we will have already modified a Porsche in exactly the way you desire it to be, and so the parts, knowledge and experience will be available off the shelf, the costs will not be high and the process will be fast and efficient.

However if your modifications are breaking new ground or are of a bespoke nature, anything is possible and you can be assured that as long as you provide us with the time to do the job properly, the result will be outstanding, solid and effective.

Whatever the aspirations for your Porsche, from a simple speaker improvement, through to having the most powerful version of your Porsche model in the world, JMG are here to help, just drop us a line and tell us what you would like.

Your Boxster or Cayman modified to your requirements.

The Boxster and Cayman benefit from excellent weight distribution, which with just a little more power allow them to run rings around the more expensive Porsche models.

This is probably why the performance from the factory was limited to the levels these cars were sold with.

JMG Porsche modification to these models can be as simple as retrofitting options not fitted to your car, such as cruise control, on board computer, or even a child seat airbag deactivation kit or clear indicators for an early model.

At the other end of the scale, at JMG Porsche we can install a Turbo conversion (in development and testing phase at time of press) or installing a custom built 4.0 Litre engine.

JMG Porsche have also been known for some time for offering stealth speaker upgrades, to replace the original Porsche oddball design speakers with off the shelf ones using a unique speaker adapter kit.

Cayenne servicing tailored to your requirements

The Porsche Cayenne has evolved since its introduction at the start of the century. Although this model shares much with vehicles originating from the VW group, it should be serviced in a completely different way which requires a specialist's experience and knowledge to avoid what can turn into expensive problems. JMG Porsche we are familiar and equipped to deal with with both the latest Cayenne as well as the original version of the Cayenne.

Selecting the correct service for your Porsche can often be a confusing task for those who do not deal with it every day, more so if you only cover few miles per year, so we tend to recommend that when you need servicing you should book your car in for the JMG Foundation Service, which not only includes more than a factory specified low mileage service, but also includes a more comprehensive inspection list than any service specified by the factory. Once you Porsche is here, we will discuss your service history, what concerns you may have with the car and its history, along with any additional items you feel need attention.

After the inspection phase of the service, we may contact you again with any additional service items we may have found in need of attention, should that be required, so please ensure you are available by telephone while your car is with us, as should we not be able to contact you, we may have to either abort the service, or complete the service without these additional items.

For more information on servicing options tailored to your needs, please click on the Introduction tab at the top of this article.

If on the other hand you are sure which service you would like performing from the factory schedule, we are also more than happy to do so.

Service prices for this model start at only £235.19 Including all parts and labour.

On the other hand, you could take advantage of the JMG Maintenance Plan, where all servicing, MOT, diagnostics and repairs will cost you from only £102 per month. Please click the tab labled JMG Plan above this article to read more..

Your Pre 1989 Porsche 911 modified to your requirements

The Pre 1989 911 covers a wide range of models with various engines, fuel and ignition systems. However at JMG we have extensive experience of all pre 89 911 models and how to best extract power from these models.

Weather you desire a 1970's RS Replica, more power from your 911 Turbo, or even a 3.8 Litre (or larger) engine, we have experience of providing that additional performance.

As we also modify the later 964 and 993 models, we also have extensive experience of transplanting these engines into earlier cars, which sometimes can be a sensible upgrade for improved fuel efficiency, higher performance and improved reliability. A 3.8 993 RS engine in your 911SC? No problem.

Your 924 modified to your requirements

The Porsche 924 originally started life in the 1970's as a 120 BHP car, sufficient for the day, but with excellent weight distribution and therefore balance and handling.

Later Turbo, Carrera GT, GTS and GTR versions had varying levels of performance and handling increases, components from which can benefit lower spec or earlier cars.

At JMG Porsche we have modified 924's, 924 Turbo's and Carrera GT's to various levels of tune and race prep, beyond the scope of any of the factory models. Unfortunately few people realise the potential of this car, which are not only good value to buy, but also can be modified to levels of performance much higher than much more expensive models.

Initial modifications often deal with "designed in issues" which would seem to have been designed to restrict the performance of the car, these items include the cylinder head, intake system, fuel system and ignition system. The performance of the 924 can be modified in any number of ways, to suit your needs and budget.

At JMG Porsche we can also convert your 924 to be a Turbo charged version, or tune the turbo and Carrera GT models to almost any level of tune you desire.

Your 944 or 968 modified to your requirements

The Porsche 944 and 968 were an evolution from the original Porsche 924. With great handling potential due to their weight distribution, these Porsche are known for having a chassis which can handle greatly improved Performance.

The 944 Turbo was a model which had its performance held back by the Porsche factory. As it stood, the Porsche 944 Turbo was faster around many tracks than the more expensive Porsche 911 Turbo flagship model, and the 968 Turbo S and Turbo RS models were limited in performance and production numbers for the same reasons.

All Porsche 944 and 968 models feature the Bosch Motronic engine management system, which has been fully reverse engineered and improved over the years since production stopped, allowing JMG to improve the chips in every 944 and 968 Porsche, allowing for higher performance and in some cases improved fuel economy and drivability.

Your 928 Modified to your requirements

The Porsche 928 has been an excellent GT car since its launch in the 1970's through to the end of production in 1995 with the GTS.

For many years JMG Porsche have had a history of modifying the Porsche 928 in various ways, ranging from a simple chip upgrade of later models, improvement of the CIS Injection system of the earlier models and even twin turbo installation.

The earliest engine was a 4.5 Litre V8 engine with 16 valves, however JMG have experience in producing up to 6.4 litre engines with twin turbo chargers, however this does provide more torque than can be transmitted to the rear wheels without enormous wheel spin at almost any speed.

In addition to this, JMG can provide any level of modification, from a simple air filter upgrade, through to one of our crazy engine packages, we are the one stop shop for anything 928 performance related.

At JMG Porsche we believe that the modification requirements of your Porsche are as unique as you are as a person. With this in mind we are able to tailor your modification to how you use your Porsche.

Modification can involve the addition of factory options not chosen when your car was originally ordered, such as cruise control, on board computer (OBC), sports suspension, sports brakes or even the Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE)

Modification can also involve the improvement of the standard factory components to rectify or avoid a flaw or design fault. This might include issues such as intermediate shaft bearing (IMS) failure on a 996 or Boxster, or even removing limitations programmed into your Porsche, intended originally to restrict the cars performance as to not conflict it with a more expensive model. this might include chip tuning (also known as chipping) or altering the boost limit.

In addition modification can involve the complete redesign of components to take the car far beyond the original specifications, such as a larger capacity engine, larger turbo chargers, weight reduction, improved suspension or even complete race or track preparation.

We cater for all Porsche models and do not discriminate between old and new, top of the range or those with lower specification, we believe that all models have potential to be improved beyond even the most expensive motorport variant from the same (or in some cases later) era of Porsche history.

The air cooled Porsche 911 evolved from the 1960's through to the late 1990's and JMG Porsche have continued to evolve these models with improved products. The Porsche 924 evolved first into the 944, the 944 turbo and eventually into the Porsche 968, and again we have modified those models to provide the performance to even surprise the driver of a new 997 GT2.

In recent years we have also turned our attention to the 996 and 997 models, as well as the Boxster and Cayman. From a simple speaker upgrade through to a 4.0 litre engine conversion, or even preparing these models these models for dedicated track or race use, JMG Porsche have extensive experience in improving even the current model line up from Porsche.

JMG have also built a reputation for car audio upgrades which was almost unplanned, but due to a response from customers of later models who wished to upgrade their car hifi to improve it beyond even the Bose equipment and even provide alternative head units, ipod interfaces and much more.

With customers from all around the world, including people bringing their cars from as far afield as the middle east, as well as Europe, JMG Porsche can support your car wherever you are based. However closer to home, JMG Porsche are convenient for anywhere in Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, West Sussex and even Devon.
